General Notes

​Other than the unclipped corners and publication date there are few differences between the proof jacket and published 1st edition. 2 different variants of the proof book have been found. One has the photographic plates inserted in 2 sets of 12 (vs 4 sets of 6 in the published book) and the other has no photographic plates. It is assumed that the version without photos was an earlier binding perhaps before the photographic plates were ready
