The printing history (as with many of the other Still Life editions) is complicated. Firstly Pan used up old sets of pages from 1960s editions with 1970s covers / prices. Secondly due to a mistake there are 2 different 4th printings. The following copies have been found with this cover:- 1st printing 1965. Multi currency pricing printed to back. U.K. 30p, Australia $1.00, New Zealand $1.00, Canada $1.25. One copy has been found.
- 2nd printing 1965. Multi currency pricing printed to back. U.K. 30p, Australia $1.00, New Zealand $1.00, Canada $1.25.
- 4th printing 1973. Multi currency pricing printed to back. U.K. 30p, Australia $1.00, New Zealand $1.00, Canada $1.25.
- 4th printing 1974. Multi currency pricing printed to back. U.K. 30p, Australia $1.00, New Zealand $1.00, Canada $1.25. This seems less common than the 1973 4th.
- 5th printing 1974. Multi currency pricing printed to back. U.K. 45p, Australia $1.40, New Zealand $1.30, Canada $1.75.
- 6th printing 1976. Multi currency pricing printed to back. U.K. 60p, Australia $1.75, New Zealand $2.05, Canada $1.95.
Collectors notes
The red spines often fade and for some reason copies seem particularly fragile. Copies of this title are difficult to find.
